Thamsanqa Malgas (b.1994) is a talented oil painter known for their vibrant portraits that captures the essence of human emotion and the beauty of natural world. Growing up in Bloemfontein, he developed a love for art at a young age, often found sketching the scenery around him and experimenting with colours.
After studying at the University of the Free State, obtaining his BA Fine Arts degree where he honed his skills in traditional painting techniques, Thamsanqa began to explore the expressive potential of oil paints. Through his paintings, Thamsanqa seeks to evoke a sense of connection – whether it be to the viewer’s own experiences or to the beauty of the world around us.
Currently based in Bloemfontein, Thamsanqa is the provincial Coordinator for the Artbank of South Africa (ArtbankSA).
