Yolanda de Kock (b. 1984) is the Acting-Assistant Project Manager of the Art Bank of South Africa (ArtbankSA) and is responsible for assisting the Project Manager, coordinating ArtbankSA activities.
Being employed at Oliewenhuis Art Museum for the last 11 years she found her passion for doing research, educating and creating educational content with art. This also involves administrating projects and curating exhibitions. Art collections, its provenance its role within society and relevance in South Africa’s contemporary display setting are areas that truly excite and inspire her.
Yolanda’s academic background involves collective degrees in Fine Art (MA), Heritage Management (MA) and currently pursuing her P.hD in History of Art at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Yolanda is a member of the Memory Studies Association. The association is for scholars, those who are active in museums, archives, and the arts, as well as different fields pertaining to memory. It is a platform for creative minds to exchange ideas, participate in conferences, and interact on national and international networks. She is also a member of SAVAH (South African Visual Art Historians) and ICOM (International Council of Museums).
