Description
BIOGRAPHY OF PALESA MOTSOMI
Although Palesa has no academic training as an artist, her keen interest in art making encouraged her to become a renowned self-taught artist. Palesa pursued her art despite opposition from her parents, who did not value creating art as an aspirant act. Her drawings often upset her mother and Palesa would be punished after creating a drawing. At some point Palesa was influenced by her parents ideas about art, but fortunately she did not stop creating. Her ultimate aim with her art is to make her viewers aware of how she perceives the world and how she perceives different things. Her visual language consists of verbalising the unsaid and portraying what words cannot say.
