BIOGRAPHY OF PATRICK RAPAI
Patrick Rapai is a Zimbabwean artist born in 1976. He went to school in Harare, the capital city, where he began his career as an artist. In 2004 he married Dora Chabwanda, a chemical engineer. They have one daughter, Zuvarashe ‘Zoo’ Rapai, now 10. In 2008 they relocated to Johannesburg, South Africa, where Patrick currently works as a full-time Artist.
He has participated in a number of group exhibitions, such as 2017 the Embassy Direct Launch at the Lanseria Airport in Johannesburg; 2017 the Alice Art Gallery exhibition in Johannesburg; 2017 a member of Spier Art initiative. In 2016 the Taxi Art Competition at the Lizemore and Associates Art Gallery; in 2015 at the Amazwi art Gallery in Michigan in the USA and 2015 the Colour me Africa exhibition in Chicago, USA.
