BIOGRAPHY OF KHULEKANI CELE
Khulekani Cele (b. 1993) was born in KwaZulu Natal at Mpumalanga Township, South Africa. Cele has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art. He has always recognized his need to be creative and to pursue this as a profession. After his matriculation in 2011 he studied the basics of painting, drawing and linocut in a group called Velobala in 2012, funded by the African Art Centre and the Durban University of Technology. Cele has participated in a number of group exhibitions. In 2016 Cele was selected as part of the top 100 SASOL New Signatures Art Competition, and he was a semi-finalist in the SA Taxi Foundation Art Award. Cele is currently lives and works in Durban.
